I'm Just Asking

  • If I said Obama was white, would that make any sense?

Well, he has at least as much caucasian blood in him as black blood. Why is it that if you have any percentage of blackness in you, you automatically lose the "privilege" to be white? (If it's so bad being black and so much greater being white)

I'm not racist, so I have no problem bringing this up. I see a lot of white people talking about Obama's race and how racist you must be if you have white colored skin and happen to disagree with any of his policies. What about people with severe acne, or even some strain of psoriasis? I think they probably get discriminated for their skin too at least as much as a black or half black person, but I don't see the media advocating for them nearly as much as the possibly half black guy in the white house.

If you let a half black individual claim the "benefits" of black and whiteness simultaneously, that's not really fair to the 100% black people, if you were to carry that line of logic out is it? This is a really complicated issue, but once you get into it, where does it stop?

Tell me (in something that at resembles a civilized way please) why I'm wrong or right and why. Maybe there's something I'm not getting here.
